Good readers always ask questions and make connections to text as they read.  What connections did you form while you read Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Eleanor Coerr?  Did you relate to the actions or feelings of any of the characters?  Did the events remind you of something you have experienced or of another story you have read?   Take a moment to return to your copy of the book.  Re-read the many personal connections you jotted down on sticky notes throughout the story.  Select your most favorite one or your strongest connection and expand your thoughts here.  Remember to be specific and use as many details as possible.  I also suggest that you refer back to your Writer's Helper and Writing Checklist to ensure that you use your best writing.  Make sure to include your initials only.  Enjoy sharing!

        Whether was the first day of school or the first time up to bat, everyone has felt anxieties as you attempt something for the first time.  Post your own personal connection as you relate to the character in the story, First Day Jitters.  Your peers will enjoy reading about your experience.  Remember to proof read your writing before you publish.
